Significance to Me!

I got into artifical voices, more specifically vocaloids, somewhere in February 2021. "Aishite, Aishite, Aishite" by Kikuo on some random playlist I was listening to. I really, really enjoyed the song and wasn't even aware that it wasn't sung by a real person! This song brought me down a rabbit hole that I could never come back from. Vocaloid songs were a big part of my life then, and still are! For a while I would only listen to vocaloid songs for months on end. The only thing that broke my months long record of not hearing human singing was listening to Hanatan in the Kikuohana collab HAHAHA. Very oftently I would share these songs with loved ones as I wanted them to make them as happy as they made me! This summer I got into more "classic" vocaloid songs. Triple Baka, World Is Mine, Ochame Kinou, Teto Territory, etc. Well I suppose the Teto ones are technically UTAU songs but shh. Thinking about it now, I haven't really been listening to vocaloid music lately. I suppose it's because a lot of them remind me of pleasant memories that pain me now.

Onto something not voca/utauloid related, I learned about IBM 7094 around the same time I learned about vocaloids. I heard of him from a friend who explained the history of artifical voices to me and sent me his lovely song. A cover of Daisy Bell. It upsets me when people say the song is creepy. He's trying his best and his voice is lovely! The song eminates this very safe vibe for me. This song has comforted me at my most upset. I love IBM 7094! It's such a nice thought to think about how happy he made all the people in the room when he started to actually sing! It's so amazing! Artifical voices are so amazing! For the recent ones, those are voices of people immortalized forever! Even if one doesn't know the name of the voice provider and only the name of the character, thats ok! Because thats still their voice! And its so amazing! A lot of the songs remind me of winter mornings on the way to my grandparents house. It was a simpler time in my life looking back on it. I really do hold all these songs near and dear.
